To guarantee the most accurate food X-ray inspection in your production process, we have designed our technology so that the product distances required for X-ray inspection are generated automatically. This means that products detected as faulty during X-ray inspection can be removed from the current product flow via (optional) ejection mechanisms. Your advantage: Contaminated products are detected reliably and immediately removed from the manufactured batch.
With optimal adjustments, false rejection rates can be close to zero – even with high product volumes and speeds. Our X-ray inspection systems also detect even the most minute product contaminations, such as electrically or magnetically conductive particles, and also glass, stones or plastic. Wipotec’s X-ray inspection system sensor technology is a benchmark in precision and reliability. The quality of the image capture is crucial in this respect. Our X-ray inspection systems use TDI technology offering precise and detailed detection of even the smallest foreign bodies such as metal, glass, stones or dense plastics. This also works with complex packaging and under difficult production conditions. Thanks to innovative image processing technology, false rejects are minimized and consistently high detection accuracy is guaranteed.
Many X-ray inspection systems work with 8-bit technology, which can distinguish a total of 256 gray values. Our X-ray inspection systems use 16-bit technology. As a result, our X-ray systems differentiate more than 60,000 gray values to distinguish the product from the foreign body.

Wipotec’s VioX camera technology

With a camera resolution of up to 0.1 millimeters, even the smallest foreign bodies can be detected. The integrated X-ray trap fully protects the electronics from X-rays thus avoiding wear and tear. In this way, we achieve maximum reliability for the electronic components of the VioX camera, which are used in all our X-ray inspection systems.

High-quality X-ray inspection of food as a baseline
X-ray images of the highest quality form the basis for successful X-ray inspection. This begins with the selection of the optimum X-ray source, in combination with the sensor and extremely powerful image processing computers on which the image processing software runs. In addition to air-cooled monoblocks, the modular system used in the Wipotec X-ray inspection system technology also includes water-cooled metal-ceramic tubes with beryllium windows. Diode line and camera detectors with HD-TDI technology operate as sensors.

This means that there is no need to replace the entire X-ray inspection system and you can achieve even better results with the same X-ray inspection system.
