Oil production goes digital
Over the years, Meguin has doubled its volume of oil production – while occupying the same area. Plant Manager Christian Texter is responsible for the automation and digitalization of production processes and process engineering. Industry 4.0 has become a reality at Meguin: a proprietary MES system controls and monitors the entire production process.
A significant challenge is the variety of containers in use – ranging from handy round bottles and square canisters to barrels and 1000-liter IBC containers. In addition, the highest quality standards must be observed. The high-quality products “Made in Germany” are well-known and valued on the market. The responsibility to protect consumers from counterfeits is also part of this. To ensure that they are using original products, consumers and workshops are increasingly buying small containers of 0.5 to 20 liters. These packs are sealed and carry a unique QR code for Track & Trace purposes, which enables traceability and protects against counterfeits. Wipotec has developed a forward-looking solution to meet the requirements and challenges at Meguin.
