CEO Theo Düppre reports in this year's summer interview with RHEINPFALZ on Wipotec's expansion with three new construction phases including a wind power plant, battery storage and recycling yard.

The 30 million investment is also possible because Wipotec emerged as a Corona winner from the pandemic thanks to its broad product portfolio. Increased demand in the mail and logistics sectors reflects purchasing patterns during the lockdowns. Vaccine manufacturers and fillers worldwide are ordering load cells and checkweighers from Kaiserslautern.

In the future, the new buildings will house machining, electronics production and load cell production. They will be equipped with underfloor heating and heated with geothermal energy. A wind turbine and a large battery storage system will ensure that Wipotec is virtually self-sufficient in energy, even at night.

In addition to a standard-compliant EMV hall, a small recycling center is also being built, where aluminum chips, plastics, cable ends, cardboard and foils will be collected, recycled and marketed.

In the academy, which was completed in 2020 and was originally only intended to be used for customer training and internal training and development, machines are currently being built for the pharmaceutical industry. The three planned new buildings are therefore urgently needed for reasons of space. With the additional 10,000 square meters, Wipotec will then grow to 48,000 square meters of production space.
