Wipotec checkweigher machines for liquid pharmaceuticals
Our dynamic weighing technology takes care of items of various dimensions. This is particularly helpful in the case of liquid medicines. The so-called liquids run over the weighing belt in a wide variety of containers, but mostly in small cans or vials, which are usually made of glass, plastic or metal. For these shaky containers, which often have a narrow footprint, product handling can be a real challenge.
In the video, we show the weighing control using our HC-A checkweigher machine, which solves the problem by employing a star wheel. The metal cans are automatically separated and transferred in groups of four, where dynamic weighing takes place simultaneously. The different wall thicknesses of small glass or plastic bottles must be taken into account.
In this case, we rely on the tare-gross method to determine the weight reliably. A weighing system is located before and after the filler. The first scales initially sends the weight values of the empty vials to the downstream weighing system. This means that the values are already known at the second unit and the weighing software subtracts them from the products that have now been filled. Here we present an even more compact model: the HC-A-MI checkweigher machine. In the pharmaceutical industry, manufacturers use this weighing solution especially for smaller solid pharmaceuticals, or solids, as these are called. These products arrive pre-packed in the standard folding boxes or cartons on weighing belts, which can easily handle throughputs of 500 items per minute. Naturally, the high precision of the weighing control is preserved at all times.
