
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition in your production process
SCADA systems play a key role in numerous industrial companies to manage and control machines and entire production lines across all sites. They collect operating data, record it and thus help to monitor and document industrial processes. In keeping with this flexibility, our product inspection systems enable a wide range of solutions for communicating with other systems at control, supervision and operational mangement level. One of these options is Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, or SCADA for short. Our systems can communicate with your existing SCADA system via OPC UA, XML or Ethernet/IP.
Alternatively, our systems can communicate with our in-house Comscale system using the internal communication interface to exchange either O-Data or SQL Liveview data with your existing SCADA or MES system.

Comscale enables data acquisition of machine-specific statistics, result images and test reports, for example as part of measuring equipment testing.
In addition, processes can be monitored using configurable alarms and events to enable an audit trail and the display of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE). Our article management and integrated functional tests allow the processes to be controlled in parallel.

For data transmission, we classify data into live data and real-time data. By real-time data we mean information or events that are reliable and available within a defined time, while live data is provided for display purposes in the lower single-digit second range.
Not all available information (data) that can be transmitted via real-time capable communication technology is required in real-time or can be provided in real-time. Real-time capable data, such as individual weight values and binary I/Os, can be transmitted via Profibus/ Profinet and EtherNet/IP. However, the actual data availability depends largely on the existing infrastructure on site. Live data are not considered time-critical and therefore have a higher latency.

Process safety thanks to checkweighers and X-ray advanced technology
Using SCADA-enabled checkweighers and X-ray systems, adjustments can be made at process or system level, remotely or on site, in real time.
For example, our systems can trigger an alarm in a quality management application if defective products or a line stoppage are detected to ensure that remote remedial action can be taken as quickly as possible.
